REQUIREMENTS
FOR
PAGO PAGO HARBOR
AMERICAN SAMOA
Required information for vessels wanting to enter Pago Pago Harbor, and some general information for mariners:
- Prior Notification Required: 96 Hours Prior to Arrival; 24 Hours Prior, and 1 Hour Prior. Pago Pago Harbor is the principle port of entry for all vessels entering American Samoa. Vessels requesting to visit outer island must first clear in Pago Pago Harbor.

- Location: Pago Pago lies on the south coast of Tutuila Island and the principle port of American Samoa. Pago Pago Harbor is located at: 14 degrees 17' south-170 degrees 41' east.
- Pilotage: Not compulsory, but recommended for the safe movement about the harbor.

- Radio: VHF Channel 16, 06. SSB 2182 (Emergency Bands)
- Berths: Main dock: L400ft, W55ft, Depth35ft below mean sea level; Container Dock: L1,112ft, W55ft, Depth35-40ft below mean sea level; Fuel Dock: L406ft, W45ft, Depth35-40ft below mean sea level; Inter Island Dock: L150ft, W40ft, Depth:25ft below mean sea level
- Anchorage: Harbor Masters Office will designate an area in the Inner Harbor, where depths range from 25ft to 150ft. Outer Harbor unsuitable for anchorage due to heavy swells.
- Tidal Range and Flow: Range: 3.6ft, MHWS 0.29ft, MLWS 0.0ft
- Clearance: All vessels must clear: Public Health, Immigration, Customs, Agriculture, Port
- Principle Navigation Aids; Buoys, markers and landmarks
- Designation: U.S. Port; all United States Coast Guard (USCG) and American Samoa Government laws and regulations apply.
